ROI and Social Media

The question of whether or not social media actually has a significant ROI causes concern for many businesses. With many companies increasing their social media budgets for 2011, it is becoming more important to develop better ways to determine ROI. According to the emarketer newsletter, the Altimeter Group reports that 82% of its survey group of social media strategists will be investing in brand monitoring for their social media programs for 2011.

In addition, 48.3% of the survey’s respondents hope to create ROI measurements for their social media programs. Overall, social media strategists hope to create efficient ways to determine ROI for social media outreach in 2011. In order to increase buy-in from stakeholders, showing that social media provides value has become very important for many companies.
